You could try the NBC website. The closest I could get in checking schedules was KUAM by clicking "TV AND ONLINE LISTINGS" and using a Guam zip like 96910

If you want to watch video you'll have to download Microsoft's proprietary Silverlight video streaming software. I quit at this point because I'm leery of new software from them. Let somebody else be the tester, ya know....

Other countries have streaming video in Flash, I've read that Germany's is good. Haven't tracked it down.

The last oil crisis in the 70s left America reeling economically and in other ways as well. Inflation soared to unprecedented heights, confidence in the country and its 'mission' and its ability to soldier on was at an all time low culminating in the embarassing Iran Hostage debacle. Reagan ushered in a new era of positive hope...the people bought it and the country began to turn around. For those of us who lived through that era the current oil flap seems as if it is just starting to hurt. It will get worse, much worse.

It was, by the way, a great time to make money.

Thanks Kap, I'm not much for video search and watching on the computer and am just planning on really taking in the events next week when Channel 8 has ABC's full coverage a week late. Did you see the opening ceremonies last night though? Awesome.

Thanks for tuning in Bruce. I was a lad in the early '70s and my only memories of that crisis were of walking to school and seeing p'd off parents waiting in long lines at the pump.

I'm not convinced that the current flap is less a supply issue as much as it is a weak dollar and speculatory one.

I agree about the dollar and speculation. I ran across an article that says much of the problem is countries like China and Indonesia that subsidize fuel for political reasons--not a good way to reduce demand.

I'll see if I can find it again.
