Do You Recognize These Guys?

If you answered 53-year old David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen, then you scored on both fronts. Have you ever wondered why multi-millionaire musicians tour well into their 50's and 60's nowadays rather than just relax, vacation in paradise or produce porno movies? Read this article. It states that on Van Halen's 40-city, now extended U.S. tour, the band is pulling in $1.5 million per night. Wow, might as well jump!

Ick, usually I would read the article, but I'm getting ready for sleep and I don't need an upset stomach.

If you are wondering if Plato is Bruce, I was first.

OK, I'm lost. What are you talking about? I hear that you may be starting a line of RedSox beer in Mongolia, any truth to that?

Would that be beer that is strained through red socks?

Just getting around to your site again Randy. I like the well written and well laid out post about Paul Tibbits. It was a good thing for all concerned that he could attend the 60th annaversay in 2004 and walk those same ramps and runways. Must have felt eerie especially as it is now overrun by jungley brush.

David and Eddie are whippersnappers compared to the Rolling Stones. Those guys will still be on the road using walkers and tying themselves to the amps to keep themselves upright. More power to 'em. Makes me want to Jump. I haven't heard Eddie play recently. Does he still have that incredible talent, or have the fingers slowed down?

Not sure Bruce, I don't think they have any new material out and I haven't seen any video from this tour. My experience of seeing aged rockers has been mixed, most memorably when I saw Robert Plant back in the early '90's. He must have been in his mid-40's by then and didn't have near the voice that he had twenty+ years earlier. His band ripped though.

Glad that you enjoyed the Tibbets bit.

Hey Randy, sorry for dropping the comment bomb and runnning. The lad has been hurling lately and the missus becomes upset when that happens, and besides the vomit shower, I get less time on line.

Anyway, I was proposing that in fact, Bruce might be Plato, although after the goat/mother fornicator post, I could be wrong.

Hadn't thought about Red Sox beer, although, I'm working on making some malt vinagar from left over mash at one of the local breweries. If you have 4mill lying around, there is an excellent german brewpub in town which is up for sale. Just down the street from the marco polo, the only pizza joint I know of with an attached strip club.
